Fall 2021

Creating a promotional campaign for a type specimen launch to highlight font versatility and features.

Typeface: MOKOKO

Problem Statement

The type specimen lacked an engaging, visual-driven promotion that effectively showcased the font's versatility.

What I've done

1. Created a visually dynamic specimen book that illustrated the font’s flexibility in different contexts.

2. Designed promotional materials, including posters and digital assets.

Research

  • Competitor Analysis: Studied other type specimen campaigns to identify what made them stand out.
  • Insights: Users appreciate visual examples that show type in context (e.g., posters, advertisements).

Design Process

  • Wireframes: Designed initial layouts for the specimen book and promotional banners.
  • Prototypes: Created digital mockups to showcase font usage in real-life scenarios.

Final Designs

1. Mobile interface: The Event has material like paper cups and paper napkins with QR code that take you to a clean layout showcasing the font in various sizes and styles.

2. Paper cups with QR code: Engaging, minimalist designs that highlight the font’s versatility.

  2. Sketching Possibilities: Experimented with layouts that balanced type hierarchy and creative use of space.
  3. Creative Campaign Design: Designed posters, banners, and specimen layouts that highlighted the type’s adaptability.
  4. Iterative Refinement: Worked with feedback to polish visual elements and ensure a cohesive promotional campaign.

Results

The promotional campaign showcased the typeface's adaptability and appeal:

  1. Showcase of Versatility: The specimen book highlighted the font’s potential across various design contexts, inspiring confidence in its usability.
  2. Striking Visual Identity: The promotional assets combined creativity and clarity, effectively capturing the typeface’s essence.
  3. Designer Engagement: The campaign sparked interest among designers, drawing attention to the typeface's unique qualities.
  4. Polished Presentation: The cohesive promotional package established the typeface as both professional and versatile.
