Re-designing an existing app

LibraryThing is a cataloguing app
for reading enthusiasts who are
also avid collectors of books. The
app allows people to keep a tab of
the books they own and also their
reading progress.

Was its UI helpful enough
for the users? The idea was to deliver
an optimum user experience to the audience of the app.

HEURISTIC evaluation 💬

I came up with
the following conclusions

01. Improve presentation of Information

There are some icons used twice on the homepage that confuse the user. The user flow needs to be made more clear. The Homepage is really dull and outdated. It needs updating. Also, the navigation bar needs to be made more functional  which simplifies usage.  

02.Improved cataloguing experience

The page of personal catalogue doesn’t allow easy sorting or categorizing of the book collection. Making organizing of book simpler and give more option for customization.

03.Revised sharing and searching feature

Make searching of books and libraries easier with lesser number of steps involved. Allow user to share book collections and make the app more interactive.

I tried to make the about book page not too cluttered with information.

between parents and their toddler nanny

Parents Onboarding

After the parent has logged in through one of his social media profiles the app forwards him to chat with a bot that will take the information about the toddler.

Nanny’s Onboarding

All the information that was received during the parent's onboarding will be displayed to the nanny.

Home Instruction

To decrease unnecessary engagement with explanations to the nanny the app will allow adding AR notes around the house.

So that the nanny can easily find what she needs.

Nanny’s Interaction

On the nanny's home page she will see all the messages left for her and enter the information about the toddler's agenda.

Parents Interaction

On the parents home page they can see all the info collected during the day in a quick and easy scan.
